But Jared Kushner’s father is.

And yes, Charles Kushner—Trump’s nominee to become ambassador to France—is the guy who went to prison for hiring a prostitute to perform oral sex on his brother-in-law in a New Jersey motel so that he could use video of the encounter to blackmail his sister.

That’s who the U.S. is sending to represent itself in France. But Kushner isn’t just the video blackmail guy: He has also done a whole lot of other things that are indicative of wider societal failings, too.

The basics: Charles Kushner is the son of a New Jersey builder and landlord who turned his father’s holdings into a larger real estate concern called Kushner Companies.
