Namath is a former American football quarterback who competed in the American Football League (AFL) and the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons, mainly with the New York Jets.
He is most famous for leading his New York Jets to a Super Bowl III Championship.
He played college football at Alabama, where he was a team member who won the national championship in 1964. He was selected by the New York Jets as the first overall pick in the 1965 American Football League Draft.
